Integrated Webcam is showing black screen
Hi,
I have a problem with my integrated webcam which it is showing black screen and detect nothing.
Last time it works is around last year, which also it is a last time that I used it, now I'm gonna use it again but face this problem.
I already have install Dell Webcam Center which also did nothing (the white light that shows that webcam is working is on but the screen still shows nothing), the Integrated Webcam also detected in Device Manager and yes I already tried to uninstall the driver and restart the laptop, still did nothing.
I don't know what to do to fix it, I run the troubleshooter through SupportAssist, it said there is error but didn't show what causing error.
So what can I do to fix it?
My laptop is Dell Inspiron 7447, Windows 8.1
Regards,

Check to see if your laptop webcam has a plastic slider cover on the camera aperture. Some of these sliders are so tiny you might not even know it is there.

Open an app like Skype or the link to take your Account picture to test the webcam. It is not a stand alone camera. It needs to be opened in a app that uses it.

Dear Mary,
I use OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) which has a function to use camera but it still does nothing, the white light is shown but no image detected, showing as black screen as I said earlier.

THANK YOU so much for this! I've been going nuts doing all sorts of crazy troubleshooting, and it turned out to be exactly what you said. A tiny little slider next to the camera that I did not even know existed. So again, THANK YOU!! You saved me from smashing my laptop on the ground out of frustration
