Inspiron G15 5521, HDMI 2.1 no 10bpc color depth?

Hi,

Recently I bought a Dell Inspiron G15 5521 gaming laptop. I read the spec, it had a HDMI 2.1 port. I connect this HDMI port to my Dell U2720Q monitor, which had a HDMI 2.0 port. I also bought a new HDMI 2.0 cable.

I also did a research on internet that HDMI 2.0 and above should able to support 10 bpc (10-bit per color-channel).

I also ensure I did set the HDMI output of GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 to 10bpc on G15.

However, my Dell monitor only shows 8bpc. So I suspect the Dell monitor having the problem on the HDMI port (signal processing) or the G15 is not able to perform as mentioned in spec.

I wrote this post, and to see someone out there also have the same issue, and how to resolve it.
