Inspiron 5559 - Display Driver Update - Intel HD Graphics 520

I am working with a software vendor to troubleshoot software crashes that was caused by display driver. I was advised that I need to upgrade the display driver. The thing is that when I clicked on "check update" and it proudly announced that the version I have is the most recent.

However, when I ran Intel's check app and it popped up a display driver that I *might* want to download but ominously warned me that I could "break" the customized OEM display driver.  This is the message:

"Intel® Graphics - Windows® 10 DCH Drivers

Description:
This download installs the Intel® Graphics Driver for 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th generation, Apollo Lake, Gemini Lake, Amber Lake, Whiskey Lake, and Comet Lake.
Version:
x.x.x.8141 Release date:
4/27/2020

Installing this Intel generic graphics driver will overwrite any customized driver from your Computer Manufacturer (OEM).

OEM drivers are handpicked, customized, and validated to resolve platform-specific issues, enable features and enhancements, and improve system stability. Intel’s generic graphics drivers are intended for testing, and we recommend using drivers from Dell. Report any issues found with this driver to Intel."

The current driver version is:

Date: 9/25/2019

Version: 26.20.100.7263

Will installing the new driver version "break" the DELL stuff?

Drivers don't get updated on laptops. Dell customizes drivers for your exact motherboard. If there are any updates--which are rare, they must come from Dell not the original manufacturers.

Reinstalling the original video driver might fix the problem. The driver might be damaged and needs to be reinstalled from Dell Downloads-  https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/inspiron-15-5559-laptop/drivers

Run the Dell Diagnostics to check all the hardware.
