Inspiron 15 3511 docking station

I purchased a docking station model number WD19S for my Inspiron 15 3511 laptop. Is this not the correct docking station for this laptop? The laptop does not have a port that matches the power connection from the docking station. What model number docking station should I get?

Thanks!

It depends on exactly what you want the port replicator to do.  This system does not support USB charging, so no port replicator/dock will add that functionality.

There are plenty of options for USB docking stations for monitor, keyboard, etc. connections. If you want something that also charges the notebook while connected, you need a different system (look toward a minimum of the 5000 series, at least some of which do support USB charging).

My primary purpose is to have an ethernet connection and dual monitors. I would prefer something that also charges the laptop, but it sounds like that is not an option.

Did you ever find a docking station for your laptop?

On this laptop (Inspiron 3511) the only video output is the HDMI port.

You will not get satisfactory video through the USB-C port (if there is one as only the dGPU version of this model has it) since on your model it is only for data transfer.

You can buy a USB Hub to have a network port, but not for external monitors.
