Inspiron 15 3000 (3593) upgrade to 32 GB RAM?
Hello Dear community
I have a fairly New Inspiron 15 3000 (3593) (10th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-1065G7 Processor (8MB Cache, up to 3.9 GHz)) and am wanting to upgrade to 32 GB RAM from 8 GB, is it support 32GB or not.
Thank you for your help.
Regards ST

A bit confusing if I can go by Dell and Crucial. Dell specs state a maximum of 16 GB total. But Dell also states a maximum of 16 GB per slot for a total of 32 GB which Dell states is not in the specs. Now to muddy things more Crucial specs state a maximum of 32 GB with 16 GB in each slot and Crucial has a guaranteed compatibility. So if it did not work they will give you a refund. The Crucial page is here. And with Crucial being the go to RAM supplier for Dell systems, I would trust the 32 GB spec.
And if you are curious, this is from the 3593 Dell support page.
Table 1. Memory specificationsDescription Values
Two SODIMM slot
Dual-channel DDR4
2666/3200 MHz
16 GB
4 GB
4 GB, 8 GB, or 16 GB

yeah pal,
Its difficult to say. I suppose dell does their best, but they fall short of listing all the info you need on their webpage and in the user manual and service manual. i know the processor supports 32GB, the question is will the motherboard and bios recognize/utilize it.
Another question all of us will want to ask, which dell tech support has failed to answer for me so far is, "What is the cas latency of the memory that's already installed?" & "does the mobo support lower cas latency such as CL15 as opposed to say... CL17 or CL19. (for those who dont know the speed of the ram is 2666Mhz that along with cas latency gives you the actual speed of the ram.
After the holidays I plan to contact the folks who work the repair side of tech support. Hopefully they'll have some more detailed information.

Very confused, I just got confirmed from Crucial that they are sure about the 32GB, but my Dell support phone assistant told me no way, and that there is some kind of undescribed "limit" for 16GB..
I tried myself but cannot yet confirm as the 16GB stick I got was not recognized even alone so I am getting a refund for it atm.

So after a fight now 24GB works so I believe 32GB support claimed by Crucial is the right value. On the other hand I was notified by Dell support (which helped me a lot to make it work!) that the configuration is definitelly unsupported by them.
The main problem was that any memory modules configuration change led to system not booting at all (even just moving the original module from slot A to B). It took a self-test in working configuration, cmos reset and many restarts but in the end it booted and test are successful.

Yes, I upgraded to Dell 3593 with Crucial 2x16gb with
Crucial 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2666 SODIMM
Kit code: CT2K16G4SFD8266
Module code: CT16G4SFD8266
You have to wait almost 1 minute for the laptop to recognize the memories.
Crucial does not lie.

The CPU supports up to 64Gb RAM. However the main question in terms of RAM capacity and type is what the motherboard can support. A key to this is finding your laptop and see what is the maximum configuration you can buy from Dell in terms of memory capacity. Crucial is typically good at determining what you can install, how you populate the slots and whether your interested in duel channel support or not.

The memory controller for the i7-1065G7 is contained on the processor chip itself, not on the motherboard, and supports up to 64GB of RAM as two 32GB modules. If you are adding two 16GB modules, Dell does not sell that configuration and thus does not support it, but it will work. In addition, your processor supports fast memory -- DDR4-3200. This is a little more iffy because the traces on the motherboard are designed for DDR4-2666, but it would be highly unlikely that this wouldn't work, and it would give you slightly better graphics performance since the integrated graphics use the on-board memory. Whatever you do, in your BIOS (hit F12 at system boot to get there) make sure to run the system check / memory check before you attempt booting into Windows.

And if it worked out for you what did u use(what ram did you buy) and how much doe the system takes( how much GBs are left for the user)
Thanks in advance

Yes, it will support 32 G. It's hard to beat Crucial memory (www.crucial.com).

Yes, exactly that is what I was trying to know because in here it is written (quoted) "Although it is physically possible to install more memory, the system will only recognize 16GB maximum." So this is my concern....that I will upgrade it to 24 GB but only 16 GB will be recognized, and it will be a waste of money as I could have bought an 8 GB ram from the begging.
Thank you man

Crucial says 16 per slot, 32 total -- and has a money-back guarantee.
