I bought a new dell battery but my laptop still shows its not charging
Recently I bought a new dell battery for my dell Inspiron 15 3000 series (3593 model), because its an internal battery and I don’t have the tools to open my laptop, I’ve send it to a pc repair shop so they could installed the battery there, then when I received my laptop back with the battery inserted the guy who installed the battery told me to charge it until it reached the top (100%), but when I connected my ac adapter and turned on my laptop for the first time after having the battery changed, it showed it was on 38% of charge but instead of charging it seems to be discharging as it shows the words remaining battery, close to the 38%, now my battery is on 35% remaining, after a full day I’ve tried to leave my laptop with the power off and just connected with the ac adapter,
The reason why I bought this new battery was because my old one presented this same problem and I have tried many things to solved it but nothing seems to work, so please does someone has a solution for this?

Battery not charging could be a number of things.
First to check: does the system recognize the AC adapter? Press F2 at powerup and locate the entry for the adapter -- if it shows unknown, the battery will not charge.
That could be due to a non-OEM adapter, a bad DC plug on the adapter or a bad DC jack in the system. Start there.

@ejn63 Ok, i checked the bios and it says the AC adpater is not installed and the battery state says idle, so i assume that means that the problem is on my AC adapter?

It's one of three things -- the adapter, the DC jack or the mainboard charge circuit. Start with replacement parts in that order.
