Now, if you prefer to troubleshoot your system on your own, please note that a pattern of 2 amber lights and 4 white lights indicates a Memory/RAM failure. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
-
- Shutdown Your Device: Ensure your device is powered off completely.
- Disconnect Power: Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if applicable).
- Re-seat the Memory Modules: Open the access panel to your device's memory modules. Carefully remove and then re-seat each memory module. Ensure they are properly secured in their slots.
- Check for Loose Connections: Examine other internal connections, ensuring all components are securely in place.
- Power On: Reconnect the power adapter and battery, then power on your device. Observe if the issue persists.
If reseating the memory doesn't fix the issue, try performing a Hard Reset:
- Turn off your computer.
- Disconnect the power adapter from your computer.
- Remove the base cover.
- Disconnect the battery cable.
- Press and hold the power button for 20-30 seconds to drain the flea power.
- Install the battery.
- Install the base cover.
- Connect the power adapter to your computer.
- Turn on your computer.
- Shutdown Your Device: Ensure your device is powered off completely.
Important: If the pattern of 2 amber and 4 white lights started after a RAM upgrade, it is likely that the RAM is not compatible with the system.
