Help with Daisy chain: Inspiron 7590, U3223QE, U2520D

Hey all,

I have got the above three products mentioned in the subject line and I’m trying to Daisy chain them.

So my laptop (i7 9750H gtx1650) is connected to the U3223QE with usb-c cable that came with the monitor. It is connected to the USB-c/thunderbolt port on the laptop and the usb-c port (#5 slot as per the product webpage)(USB-C upstream/DisplayPort 1.4 Alt Mode with Power Delivery (power up to 90W, HDCP 2.2) on the monitor.

Then I connected the u3223qe with the u2520d using the display port out (3223qe) to display port in (2520d).

But it doesn’t work?! :(.

also the other thing, how do I access the OSD for the U2520D? When I initially connected it, I got this auto setup of some stuff and I selected yes. Now when I click any of the buttons on the monitor it is just giving me options to select the display option.

Thanks in advance for any help!

It doesn't work meaning you get no display from either monitors?

You may start troubleshooting by testing one monitor connection at a time.  This would ensure that your laptop has proper settings for external display(s).  After verifying that each monitor could work with your laptop, you can perform daisy chain setup again.

On the U2520D, the default factory setting is DP1.4.  If the monitor fails to to display content when using displayport connection, change the settings to DP1.1 follow the procedure in User Guide.

Use Menu button to launch OSD, it's button #3 in picture below.

Thank you for responding. The u2520d doesn’t turn on. Although I haven’t done enough testing admittedly.

Might test the u2520d by itself and see if it works.

also my laptop is Daisy chain compatible, correct?

So I finally got it to work. I had to switch on the monitors independently and then switch on MST on the main monitor. Then I just use the connections as I mentioned above and it worked.

However the issue is that for the U2520D, the max resolution I’m getting is less than QHD.

any solutions for this?thank you.
