get a black gliched screen when turn dell laptop on or when using HDMI and switch between different project views.

this is how it looks like.

my laptop boots normally and works normally after this screen, but it concerns me. every time I turn my laptop on this will show up. formerly it was the Dell logo on the screen. this happens when I connect the laptop to other monitors with HDMI as well. when I switch between different project views the screen goes black like in the picture above. Also if I push my mouse to the top of my screen, I can see a little bit of my mouse cursor moving.

I updated the Windows and installed the latest Nvidia driver and dell firmware, but the problem persisted.

The black glitched screen issue you're experiencing on your Dell laptop, especially when using HDMI and switching between project views, can be caused by various factors. Here are some steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the problem:

1. Update Graphics Drivers:

  • You mentioned updating Nvidia drivers, which is a good step. Ensure you have the latest drivers installed for both your integrated Intel graphics (if applicable) and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti. Sometimes, Windows Update can offer different graphics drivers, so it's essential to check the Nvidia website as well.

2. Disable Fast Startup:

  • Windows Fast Startup can sometimes cause display issues. You can disable it by going to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable > Uncheck "Turn on fast startup."

3. Adjust Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display Settings." Try different display resolutions and refresh rates to see if the issue persists at different settings.

4. Check HDMI Cable and Ports:

  • Ensure that your HDMI cable is in good condition and properly connected. Try using a different HDMI cable or port on your monitor/TV to rule out cable or port issues.

5. BIOS Update:

  • Check if there's a BIOS update available for your Dell laptop. Sometimes, BIOS updates can address display-related issues.

6. Disable Hardware Acceleration:

  • In some cases, software that utilizes hardware acceleration can cause display glitches. Try disabling hardware acceleration in applications like web browsers and multimedia players to see if it makes a difference.

7. Run Windows Troubleshooters:

  • Run the Windows Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to identify and resolve hardware-related issues. To do this, go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Hardware and Devices.

8. Reset Display Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Change display settings > Advanced display settings > Display adapter properties for Display X (where X is the number of your monitor). In the Properties window, go to the Driver tab and click "Roll Back Driver" if the option is available.

9. Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts:

  • Sometimes, third-party applications or utilities that interact with your graphics card can cause display problems. Try temporarily disabling or uninstalling such software to see if the issue resolves.

10. Consult Dell Support:

  • If the issue persists despite trying these steps, it's advisable to contact Dell Support. They can provide specific guidance and may offer solutions tailored to your laptop model.

Remember to back up important data before making significant changes to your system settings or performing updates. This way, you can restore your system if needed without data loss.

I finally found the problem.

It seems like my laptops monitor got some problems running on 120hz. When i try to change the framerate on windows to 120hz it shows me the exact same black screen.

I assume the bios setting and the screen where dell logo shows up run with 120hz framerate. So any Idea on what can the monitors problem be and why it cant run on 120hz? Also any suggestions on how can I access my bios, is there any settings to change the bios default framerate on o run. On 60hz?
