General troubleshooting:

Unplug the system, remove the base cover and disconnect the battery from the system board.  Hold the power button for 30 sec.  If this is not a 2-in-1, remove and reinstall the solid state drive.  Disconnect all USB peripherals and see if the system will power up with the battery disconnected.

If it will boot without the battery connected but not with it, the battery is bad.

If it still won't boot, re-try with the SSD removed from the system.  if the system will complete POST with no SSD, but not with it, the SSD needs to be replaced.

If the system still won't complete POST, replace the system board.

There could be a few different issues causing this problem. Here are a few things you can try:

  1. Check the battery: Make sure that your laptop is plugged in and that the battery is charged. If the battery is low, the laptop may not have enough power to fully boot up.

  2. Try a hard reset: Unplug the laptop from the power source and remove the battery. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and then release it. Reinsert the battery, plug the laptop back in, and try to turn it on again.

  3. Check the power supply: Make sure that the power supply is working properly and that the connection to the laptop is secure.

  4. Check the memory: Make sure that the memory is properly seated and that there are no loose or damaged memory modules.

  5. Check the storage: Make sure that the storage device is properly seated and that there are no loose or damaged storage device.

  6. Check the BIOS: Try to enter the BIOS by pressing F2 during the Dell logo at the start-up, if you can enter the BIOS, make sure that your boot order is set to boot from the primary drive.

If none of these steps work, it's possible that there is a hardware issue with the laptop and it may need to be repaired or replaced.

Unplug the system, remove the base cover, disconnect the battery and hold the power button for 30 sec. Plug the battery back in, replace the base cover and try powering up again.

If the system still won't power up, call Dell for a warranty repair.

I'm afraid I have a hardware problem as I have tried all the recommendations and none works.

Hi

Daft question ....

Does it make a noise, fan running for example?

Unlikely thermal shutdown but really remotely possible.

No it does not make any fan noise. Fans are not started.

Hi

Unfortunately I cannot improve on the answers already given.

I feel that it passes post, and either has a themal shutdown, because no fans are running OR perhaps there is no bootable device found.

Sorry to be so negative.

@AdrianG001 Expect no help at all from Dell.  They will tell you the machine is out of warranty.  Buy another.  They won't even tell you how to turn the machine on or off.
