Dell inspiron 5420 battery not charging

Yesterday when I charged my Dell Inspiron 5420's battery. When I boot it up from battery power it does not power on. So when I tried to boot with the power adapter it boots up. Windows reports that the battery is fully charged. So I went up online and installed all the drivers for my Dell Inspiron 5420. And Dell battery meter says the battery is disabled. And I also get a message saying that I' m using a 65w power adapter. That's because my original power adapter had spoiled and I had it replaced. Please help me.

Sounds like it's time for a new battery.

Presumably, the system came with a higher-power adapter (90W, 130W, etc.).  That's what you need to run the system correctly.

Yes my system came with an 90w power adapter.

There is also a red light beside the battery icon. My system also works correctly with 65W power supply. No random shutdowns or restarts.
