BSOD 0xc0000034 Unexpected error has occured

Inspiron 16 7620 2-in-1

Inspiron 16 7620 2-in-1

Long story short, I believe there's some partition corruption going on, not sure what the best approach to repair will be.

I have ran both basic and advancaed diag, all hardware is passing at this time.

When trying to use DELL's recovery tools, it says it completed but as soon as it restarts I get the same error again.  I have also downloaded and ran it from an external USB, same result.  I chose the recovery without saving data, hoping any corruption would be handled during formatting but it did not.

System is in warranty but DELL insists it is a software issue so it is not covered.

Thoughts?

If you have tried to advanced options for startup repair and it did not resolve the issue you will need to Reinstall Windows.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

Hi

It's a pity that they don't list the error they were expecting.

So if it was mine, what might I try?????????

A USB stick with a decent OS on it, like Linux Mint or Debian.

Boot from it and do have your MS 48 character BitLocker key to hand.

This may sound peculiar but.....

Open a terminal and try .......

sudo apt install testdisk

It is a small but powerful miracle worker, provided you have better eyesight than me.

The text/font is small and not particularly stand out.

Along with Gparted I recovered an SSD that had partitions deleted and/or corrupted.

It is a Low-Cost/No-Cost potential solution.

If in doubt please ask.
