LAN speeds for 660's
I have 2 Inspiron 660's desktops. I have Spectrum internet and on one of the computers using speed test, I get 230 ish download and 10 upload which is what spectrum says I should get but on the other computer I only get half the download speed and about the same upload. Both are hard wired to satellite mesh routers and I have swapped the computers to make sure it wasn't an internet issue. Does this sound like a hardware issue. Thanks for the help.

Great if it's passing 100 MBPS than Duplexing is not the issue.
1 Look for a program Called SmartByte in Start Menu (uninstall it)
Reboot
Check in Run > MSCONFIG > Services : If smartbyte is not listed, run the speed test.
2. In Task manager > Startup > Disable all apps
Reboot and run the test again, if results are fine enable these apps one by one.
Last option prior contacting Tech Support for Motherboard replacement (Jack is on MOBO) is to reinstall OS.
And when it comes to OS reinstall, do not RESET or use factory image
Perform a clean install using > F12 > SupportAssist OS recovery > RESET > RESET and update

To compare you need to have identical ethernet LAN driver in both pc. If in doubt do a fresh clean install of Windows 10 in the slower pc and see if that helps improve download speed.

Both show 10.1.505.2015 as driver version. Would uninstalling the device and then rebooting the computer act the same as reloading windows 10? If I do a fresh install of windows delete my data?

Inspiron 660s ship with Realtek PCIe Gigabit network adapter capable of Gigabit speeds.
you have done most of the troubleshooting by yourself, ruling out Router and Ethernet.
Only thing I can suspect is affected PC is not running on full duplex mode.
Open Device manager > network adapter > Properties > Advanced
Speed and Duplex > Change to 1.0 GBPS Full duplex

If drivers are identical, then you can try delete driver in slower pc and let Windows reinstall it to see if it helps download speed. Clean Windows install will delete all data so it is last software resort. The ethernet controller is part of motherboard chipset. Nothing you can do to refresh the hardware except for clearing CMOs.

XPS_man has a great suggestion which rings a bell for the Inspiron.

That doesn't seem to help either. If I run speed test a few times it may get to about 140 but that is about it. The other 660's that I have jumps straight over 200 each time.

No smartbytes on the computer and with apps disabled at startup and rebooting, still getting around 100 with speedtest. More troubleshooting once I get back from running some errands. Thanks for the help.

A new user account > test
Reinstall OS
This time do not use Dell image for reinstall as I am suspecting a bloatware is causing the issue.
