NO PC stated at all.

Inspiron what,? 2007 to 2020 ,  13 years of vast models made ,

RTC coin cell battery dead is #1 case of BIOS going NUTS, on all PCs made. by all makers.

we simply replace it and spend at buck.

if confused post photo  of PC

or A URL link to one that looks just like yours.

or IF BIOS screens work ,power on , hammer F2, and read the info line there tells you what PC you own.

yes dell inspirons dead like the old 530 doe not tell you its a 530 even on the post screen all it tells you is inspiron, but F2 does.

the #1 reason for F2 failing or post bar hanging 1/2 way is bad battery COIN.

here is list after coin new.

  • No USB media plugged in of any kind, keyboard sure, ok.
  • no SD cards installed.
  • NO CD/DVD disks on the try allowed.
  • not doing the long reset first, AC power pulled for 1 hours. (or the classic way , ask)
  • bad ram can cause POST to lockup , so test all sticks 1 by 1.
  • remove GPU card, use local iGPU port. only.
  • remove HDD, and SSD and DVD cables. now. POST ok, F2 works? sure.
  • last remove all DP and HDMI cables if the cable shorts 5v power pin BOOM failing PC. if there.!

some say so strange, with USB stick messing up the boot, well gee if the bios seen things there on the stick it does not like it hangs,  and things it has boot or is 1/2 a boot there, or corrupted boot  files left over.

Or in BIOS turn off USB boot, or turn on SAFE BOOT, bingo USB ignored. for sure.

and gee this is not a DELL issue, ALL PC do the same thing, all BIOS can be confused easy,  hard cold facts of life. learn to strip the PC down, to solve boot issues and read the F2 BIOS logs if F2 not locked out.

try to get here on 530.

some dells the case tells you what it is, others only here click system info.

ok none of that does BIOS see your HDD report in, if not the HDD is dead.

the HDD must also show up in boot order. best is 1st in order. hDD0.

if drive fails that then you test the HDD next, ASK , on new dells F12 diagnostic test works for HDD too. testing it.

for sure. the above is a relic PC,  the kind seen in garage sales for $5 or free inside some dumpster.
