VMware workstation Windows 11

Hello,

Do you know if there are directions to install windows 11 in VMware Workstation to prep the image for DIA?

Based on what I’m reading (below) we have to decide if we skip the TPM checks via reg keys or encrypt the vm but it’s not clear what Dell DIA supports?

@appleaday4k -

The steps are included the new DIA Dyanamic users guide in step 3 of "Modify virtual machine settings in VMware Workstation Pro" > it can be found here.

  1. On the Options tab, click Access Control, click Encrypt, and then enter a password.
  2. Power off the virtual machine and click Edit virtual machine settings.
  3. On the Hardware tab, click Add.
  4. In the Add Hardware Wizard window, select Trusted Platform Module and click Finish.

Thank you that worked perfectly.  I installed the Win11 iso into Workstation Pro 16.2.1 (latest version) using the directions and for some reason, it refuses to let me connect my USB hard drive to the guest OS to move my additional installers into the image.  It is always mapping to the host OS even when I select the guest.  I suspect this may be some sort of VMware bug.  Did anyone else report this?  I opened a VMWare ticket today as well

I worked with VMware for a few hours today and they are investigating the bug.  The only way we could get files into the VM was to install VMware tools and use a shared folder or copy and paste.
I know DIA does not want me installing VMware tools.  If I Install VMware tools then uninstall it, is that acceptable?

Never mind.  Even if I can get the files in, I can’t capture the image back out without usb
