SRDF-CE with TFIM

Hey guys,

I want to create an environment with 2 win2003 servers in our main site and 1 server in the DRP site (I wiil use SRDF-CE solution for this).
My question is, since on the servers we're going to install MSSQL, I need a local replica solution as well.
Can I use TFIM (tsimsnap)? Any other suggestions?

Thanks,
Maxim.

Maxim,

If you plan on using TimeFinder, then yes TF/SIM (tsimsnap) is an option for creating a local replica with MSSQL. Replication Manager is also another option, but requires an RPQ for support with SRDF/CE. Either option should be fine, obviously TF/SIM, being a cli, will require more of a scripted solution, where as Replication Manager will have more automation and scheduling built-in.

If you plan on using SRDF/CE make sure you allocate enough nodes (or a powerful enough server) in your DRP site to support the workload, especially if the two local nodes are both active.

I consulted with an expert from EMC and he suggests:

"may want to try RM (Replication Manager) instead of TSIM (TimeFinder SQL Integration Module)"
