Regrading SQL Server installation

Hi I am new to Documentum.
I am trying to install Microsoft SQL server 2k on Windows XP, SP2 home edition. I am unable to install SQL Server 2k because its giving error like "OS not supports SQL Server client components".
If i click OK ..its going to next screen with computer radio button defaultly selected and its asking to restart my machine

Do i Need to do any settings in OS before installing SQL SERVER .

Please help me out.

Are you trying to install the enterprise or standard edition of SQL server ??

Windows XP does not support either of these editions of SQL Server...

the only version of SQL for XP is MSDE. its free and smaller edition of SQL. its restricted to 2GB data base, it don't have full-index.
