have you looked in Timefinder documentation ? How about "man symmir" or "symmir -h"

From a storage point of view, option 2 is really good since you can leave the DB running and you don't need knowledge of either the host or the database. You simply ask the storage to freeze the ios and obtain a copy that looks like the image you have on your disks when a cluster switches node due to a node failure.
It's consistent even if you need a little FSCK and DB recovery. :-)

i think option 4 is the best solution. Take a look at this white paper:

White Paper: EMC TimeFinder and SRDF for Oracle Database 10g Automatic Storage Management - Best Practices Planning

B-)
Direct link: http://powerlink.emc.com/km/live1/en_US/Offering_Technical/White_Paper/H2919-emc-timefinder-srdf-oracle-db-wp.pdf
That's how we roll.

Hi

I did not explain my issue sorry about that,

I have a server running AIX OS and Oracle Database 10G, I'm Associating a BCV Mirror Device to its standard devices, I split the paired devices by using -instant option, due to I have power path to get a consistent copy.

/usr/symcli/bin/symmir -g isis_bcvkio -instant split -noprompt -i 30

There are many ways to split the devices to get consistent copy

1. -instant option(for power path)
2. -consistent (without the use of PowerPath support)
3. symioctl command
4. Freeze database by using database scripts( Database administrators)

I don't know what is the best way to do that, I think the option 4 is the best way to do a consistent copy.

Sorry about that, could you help me please?

Regards
