PowerEdge - Unity Direct to Host ISCSI connectivity

Hello =)

Greetings of the day!

Query:

Servers: Power Edge R750xs *3

Storage: Unity XT 380F DPE

OS: ESXI 8.0

Ports: 10GBaseT AF (ZR)

Is direct to host ISCSI supported? It is supported for Windows/Mac with the proper multi-path software. I can't seem to find the proper documentation for ESXI, along with the cabling guide.

Fairly new to IT. Help and guidance is most appreciated.

To set up direct iSCSI connectivity between your Dell PowerEdge R750xs servers and Unity XT 380F storage on VMware ESXi 8.0:

  1. Use 10GBaseT ports to connect servers directly to storage.
  2. Configure VMkernel adapters on ESXi hosts with IP addresses in the same subnet as Unity storage.
  3. Set up iSCSI interfaces on Unity storage with corresponding IP addresses.
  4. Bind ESXi iSCSI software adapters to VMkernel adapters and configure targets.
  5. Ensure multipathing for redundancy and rescan storage adapters in ESXi to detect iSCSI targets.
