D380 G5 connected to a CX3-10 via QLOGIC Hba
Hi,
I have connected a HP Proliant D380 G5 to a SAN storage based on EMC with a Qlogic QLE2462 HBA card. (We are in Solaris 10)
After integration of the server into the EMC San Storage, I rebooted the server and noticed some LUNZ in the /var/adm/messages.
I tried to fdisk, and I tried to format the device but I alwas got the message " Cannot open device /dev/rdsk/c4t0d0p0".
Please help if you got a similar problem.
Thanks
Consty

A LUNZ is a virtual device a Clariion arrays presents to a host which is
a) not connected to a storage group in the array
b) does not have a LUN with the adress 0 in the storage group
This is not a real LUN and it will probably respond with a not ready error to all IO you direct to it. It should go away once you configure a LUN with the host adress 0 in the storage group. I think the presence of a LUNZ also depends on the arraycommpath setting for your initiators but you shouldn't change that.

Frank

Host ID is already equal to 0 in the storage group.
