Can a BCV from an AIX 5.3 host be mounted and used on an AIX 5.2 host?

We currently have 2 systems at AIX 5.2 one of which uses a BCV copy of the data from the other. We need to upgrade the OS and do not want to upgrade both systems at the same time. Can we upgrade the first host to AIX 5.3 and still use the BCV copy on the host that remains at AIX 5.2? Any comments welcome - Thanks
