BCV to Standard conversion

A mirrored BCV will be split from its standard and mounted to a host for permanent use. Prior to mounting the BCV to the host the BCV will be converted to a standard. Will the existing data on the BCV risk a chance of being corrupted during the conversion process?

I can't find the documentation to support this, but I can't imagine that this would touch the data on the device. It is just an attribute of the device, not an actual reconfiguration so I would think this would have no effect on the data at all.

I would probably want to test one out first though. Do you have a spare BCV you could run this test on?

yep, Allen is correct ..it's just a flag ..data will be intact. Very similar to what you are trying to do:

I've tried this my self a few times a while ago.
The data stays intact.
Good luck!
