aix5.3 32-bit system has max lun size limit ？

what do you mean by not usable ? You can not create any new lv's ? What's PP SIZE is set to ?

Hmm maybe moving this thread in the Clariion area may help getting answers from a broad audience.. Should I ask the admins to move this thread elsewhere ??

i think it's LVM related ..remember PE size on HPUX ? ..i think it's related.

Whoops ... I don't really know AIX LVM .. I was pretty sure that AIX had a better LVM (with less restrictions) but maybe I was wrong .. I know better what MAX PE PER PV means in HPUX .. I hoped not to have a "max pp per pv" in AIX :P

lv can be created,but some lv address beyond 1TB IO failed. I think it is OS 32bit kernel limit.

Julian - I believe that emc159858 applies here...

One statement from this solution is "A 32-bit AIX kernel can not support a lun greater than 1 TB."

2 workarounds; 1. Create LUNs smaller than 1Tb, 2. Migrate to 64-bit version of AIX
