A Journey to a self-healing IoT-enabled Data Center
A self-healing data center is no longer a luxury in the modern data center as it automates a lot of manual work. Results are impressive, particularly for the downtime and cost that can be avoided by implementing a self-healing model in data centers.
In this Knowledge Sharing article, Mohamed Sohail, Sameh Gad, Yosef Boray, and Said Tabet address the concept of self-healing data centers, capable of autonomously detecting potential failures before they occur and adjusting its configuration to achieve optimal function at all times.
The authors demonstrate their vision and hands-on experience gained through their expertise towards a self-healing and self-optimized data center. Emphasis is given to using the capabilities of the Internet of Things (IoT) and analytics to detect failures and not only react to solve them, but also to be proactive and offer suggestions plus corrective actions to maintain the environment.
