Upgrading The Firmware

Hi Guys,

Quick question,

We have a pool that contains 4 members as follow:

M1: 6.28 TB

M2: 6.28 TB

M3: 21.31 TB --> Used:  14 TB

M4: 5.23 TB

and we have around 15 TB free in the default pool.

and we want to upgrade the firmware for each member without any downtime.

The problem is we can not move M3 to the maintenance pool because it asks for a 21.31 TB free space to move this member !

Q/ Why do we need a free space of 21.31 TB in the default pool insted of 14 TB to move the member ?

Thanks & Regards,

Turki

You can login to the support site: eqlsupport.dell.com and either call in (see the phone number for your region) or open a case online (valid Support contract needed).

If M3 is only using 14TB, and you have at least 14TB free space (Plus @10%) in the pool to hold the data of M3 the move member should work. You will need to open a support case for this so we can look at what is causing this error.
