PS4000 - Change Network Management IP gateway and IP address

Hello!

We've recently migrated our network to a new subnet and I'm trying to update the management network on our PS4000 to that new network.

Old network

192.168.1.0

New network

12.10.1.0

I'm recieving the following error when trying to assign a new IP to the management interface.  Can anyone help?

Management address must be on the same subnet as the addresses on all management interfaces.

I'm wondering if running "setup" from the cli would be the only option at this point.

Thanks,

Jim

We were able to resolve this by disabling the management interface and changing the IP on eth2 first.  Then re-enabling the managment interface and changing the IP there.

Thanks!

Hello Jim,

This is assuming you are using the out-of-band dedicated Management.

There are two ways to fix this.  But do not re-run setup.   Best way to do this is via serial port.

1.)  Enable IPv6 and create an ipv6 management address. Then you will be able to change the IPv4 Management address.   The IPv6 can be a dummy address.

2.)  Disable dedicated management.  Then connection to iSCSI Discovery address and reconfigure Dedicated Management on the new subnet.

If you are not using dedicated Management and the iSCSI and Management are done on the SAME network then again at the serial port you can change that one interface at a time.

You'll want to shutdown your servers since you'll be changing the discovery address too.

GrpName>member select MEMBERNAME eth sel 1 NEWIPADDRESS NETMASK

GrpName>grpparams group-ipaddress IPADDRESS

Then go back and fix the other network.

GrpName>member select MEMBERNAME eth sel 0 NEWIPADDRESS NETMASK

Then set the new default gateway

GrpName>member select MEMBERNAME def-gateway IPADDRESS
