MD3600f + MD1200 + MD1220
Hi all. I have MD3600f + MD1200 storage array. Recently I added MD1220 (ver 1.01) with HGST (HUC156060CS4204) with firmware version EK11 installed. MDSM tells that all HGST disks are in Status: incompatible and Mode: Incompatible. Shop support tald me to upgrade the hard drive firmware (to version EK23) and MD1220 firmware (to version 1.06). So I have some questions:
1) Where can I get firmware for HDD? On the dell support page I've found only driver update packages for windows and linux OS but I didn't find firmware file compatible with MDSM.
2) My MD1200 has firmware version 1.01. If I updated MD1220 to 1.06 - can I still use MD1200 without upgrading firmware? It contains production data so I can't stop it.

When you added your MD1220 did you power down both your MD3600f & MD1200? When you add a new enclosure you need to reboot the entire chain to make sure that all is seen correctly. Also, you shouldn’t need to upgrade the firmware on your MD1220 as it should get the correct version that it needs from your MD3600f. If you are not connecting your MD1220 to your MD3600f & MD1200 then yes you will want to upgrade the firmware.

Yes, I've completely shuted down MD3600f and MD1200 before adding MD1220.

May be you can tell me where to find suitable firmware to flash it with MDSM?

Hello dmitry.pronyaev,
So the drive that you have is not listed in the support matrix for your MD. Is there a Dell part# on drive HUC156060CS4204? Was all the drives purchased with the MD1220 or did you purchase the drives after getting your MD1220?
With MD systems they generally will need to be HDD with dell Part#’s on the drives in order to be seen and work correctly.
