Fluid v5 NFS - 16 group limit

Hi all,

we have a FS8600 with Fluid v5.0, we want to export some data via NFS (v3 or v4) with sec_sys (no kerberos). The export works fine but we are hitting the 16 group membership limit of the NFS protocol ( http://www.xkyle.com/solving-the-nfs-16-group-limit-problem/ ).

We already configured the NFS user repository ( under Environment -> Authentication ) and our compellent is correcly doing the lookup queries on our ldap, but it still has the limit of the 16 group membership. From our testing, it seems that the compellent is not doing the group membership checks.

Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this ?

Thank you !

Hello nme7,

How are you mounting your exported data? Also, how have you configured your NFS repository?

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

We tried to export (and mount) the data in NFS v3 and v4 with system level security ( no kerberos ). On the FS side we also configured the ldap user mapping and we are using the same ldap on the clients mounting the partition (so the uids/gids are consistent).

Hello nme7,

I would call into support so that we can look over your setup and see if we can find out why that is happening.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
