Updating the Dell Command Update Application itself- How?

We use DCU to keep our computers BIOS, Drivers, etc. up to date.   Our config uses this switch to specify what updates to install:  -updateType=driver,firmware,utility,others

For reasons that I can't figure out, the Command Update program itself is not being updated on some computers.  Can someone clarify how I can use dcu-cli.exe to prompt these machines to update to DCU v4.2?

dcu-cli.exe -installupdates -updateType=utility,application  ???

When I run that on computers with DCU <4.2, i either get "no updates available" or it complains about bad syntax or something.

Or am i better off just installing v4.2 on top of the existing, older version using our other deployment tools?

TIA

You need to also add -UpdateType=application along with others as Dell Command Update is an application, if it is not provided in the command it will ignore the DCU application and wont install on the system.

According to the documentation, these are the acceptable parameters for that switch:

[bios, firmware, driver, apps, and others]

See: Dell Command | Update Version 4.x Reference Guide

Please clarify what "Others" means.  And clarify Apps vs. Application
