Direct attached host connection problem on VMAX

Hello,

I have a little connection problem on 2 engines VMAX (5875). A direct connection was made between host's HBA port and VMAX front-end port. I already checked the comptability matrix for the required hba flags. But the host cannot login to the front-end port. I also mapped some gatekeepers. But nothing changed. Does anyone have an opinion about that?

Problem is solved . Thanks RRR & dynamox for your helpful comments.

I disabled PP flag for the port and rebooted it. It worked.

play with HBA settings, change topology to maybe loop or point-to-point.

Point-to-point flag is already "Enabled". I even disabled and re-enabled it. Nothing changed.

There are basically 2 ways you can config your HBA: loop and point-to-point. You can change this setting in the HBA setup which you can enter when you boot the server and press ALT-E when the HBA BIOS messages show up in the POST.

Having the similar issue, with 2012R2 server directed connected to vMAX (5876).

Did manually configure HBA parameters to

  Point-to-Point

8Gb or 4Gb (tried both, same result)

HBA qlogic - QLE2562 8Gb FC Dual Channel

Driver ver:  STOR Miniport 9.1.11.3

Firmware: 5.09.00

What PP flag you were referring to, that solved your problem? HBÁ or FA?
