Admin password
Good night, i have a inspiron 5577, i recently had some security problems so i needed to set a password in my HD in case of the worst scenario, the problem is, i set an Admin password and the HD (system) password but i can only remember my system password, i can use my computer but i want to format it and i probably will not be able to do it without my admin password, do you guys have any ideia of what can i do?

If you mean that you set a password in BIOS, you have two options. You will need to remember it, or have Dell help you. Dell can help, but you would have to prove that you are the legitimate owner and, as it is out of warranty, you would have to pay for the assistance.
Here is more information from Dell about BIOS passwords, and here is how to contact Dell Support.

Do you mean a Windows reset? e.g. Start > Settings > System > Recovery > select Reset PC. ?
A Windows reset should not require a BIOS admin password.

According to this Dell page, on some laptop computers you can clear BIOS passwords by removing and reinstalling the CMOS battery (coin-cell battery). That won't work on all laptops.

If that doesn't work on yours, you would need to pay Dell Support to assist you, once ownership is confirmed. If you have the hard drive password, then you might be able to keep using the system without the BIOS admin password, though you would be unable to make any changes in BIOS.
