XPS 8900 Does not exit sleep mode

I purchase 2 Dell XPS-8900 computers about a year ago and have been trying to fix the problem where the computers do not wake up properly from any of the Sleep modes. I finally figured out that the problem has nothing to do with the BIOS or Windows 10 power settings – the culprit is the S2716DG monitor. It has an internal “Monitor Deep Sleep” mode that is Enabled by default. After setting this option to Disabled, all of my computer sleep problems disappeared. I set all of my BIOS and Windows power settings back to their factory options and everything works great. The monitor still turns off after the Display sleep setting times out and the monitor powers up every time the computer exits sleep mode based on a keyboard action. The S2716DG manual indicates that setting the Deep Sleep option to Disabled may cause the monitor to not wake up after the computer goes to sleep. However, my experience is just the opposite. Download the S2716DG manual to figure out how to Disable this option – it is located under the “Others” menu option. Other Desktop computers may have the same issue – this solution worked for my XPS 8900 computers.
