Windows 10 installation not detecting drives on Dell T7600 (PERC H310)
Hello all, I am wondering if anyone can help me as I am feeling pretty broken right now trying to fix this all day :(
Basically I am running my drives in non raid mode via the perc H310 card. Due to my windows bluescreening all of a sudden I have to re-install windows.
The installation for windows 10 cannot find my drive and requires drivers for the H310 PERC card.
My problem is that whatever PERC H310 driver I seem to download from the dell site (I change the .exe to .zip and then extract to USB) it does not recognize it as a signed driver or it recognizes some H310 drivers but they are hidden from compatibility and still no drives detected when I install them.
I am so exausted and stressed and not sure what else to do as I feel like I have done everything I have read to do but not getting anywhere.
I also read something about F6 drivers and changing the bios from ACHI mode to ATA, though I am not tech savy with this sort of thing and really cannot understand if I need to do it or if it will do more damage.
I even typed in my service tag but the only windows compatible driver is some sort of H310 Firmware, which did not work. I would really appreciate some help with this. I miss having to just plug the sata into the mobo and life was simple! :)

The mass storage driver is tricky. The dell site does not list the actual PERC F6 driver but rather the raid application.
The 3600 5600 7600 drivers download support page should be updated to include the information below.
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=JV4JN
https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER01426031M/2/DRVR_AHCI_SCU_Intel_A03_JV4JN_f6flpy-setup_ZPE.exe
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?DriverId=1DV4H&productCode=precision-t3600
http://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER00575768M/9/DRVR_SAS_Dell_PERC8-1DV4H_Win7_X64_WHQL_setup_ZPE.exe
HDD ports 0-4 on this board WILL activate if the PERC H310 card is removed and a device is connected to at least one of the HDD0-4 ports.
The storage controller activated appears to be the integrated Intel C600 chipset 4 port SAS/SATA controller, with PCI ID 8086:1d6b.
This chipset is documented to support SATA III speeds and TRIM but both are untested at this time.
When two or more drives are connected, the BIOS option ROM screen is enabled for "Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology enterprise", with configuration utility available by typing Ctrl-I during boot. SCU Option ROM is version 3.2.0.1022.
When one drive is connected, the option ROM setup will not appear but the controller still functions normally.
When no drives are connected at startup, the controller will not be activated.
All ports 0-4 are activated and usable simultaneously in this configuration.

PCI cards in General DO NOT ENUMERATE properly or install without CHIPSET DRIVERS (F6 mass Storage Drivers) Being installed FIRST.:emotion-3:
There are 2 fiiles at the link you want the one that is 156K
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?DriverId=1DV4H&productCode=precision-t3600

'"Windows Setup could not configure Windows on this computer’s hardware" installation error on a Windows 7-based or a Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer'.
This is not cookie cutter you must extract the drivers and point to them on a USB storage device unzipped. EXE OR ZIP is not F6 READABLE.
The Advanced Drive Format hard drive will be recognized and Setup will continue as expected.

Rename this EXE to PERC.ZIP
then extract the 4 FILES to diskette or USB flash drive and F6 point to them. In windows 7 you "load drivers" from usb flash drive.

Yes!!! Got it to recognize the drive. All thanks to you SpeedStep :)
To run through all my steps to potentially help others:
You will need to download the Windows 10 update (nice one SpeedStep!)
downloads.dell.com/.../WINPE10.0-DRIVERS-A04-942XJ.CAB
using something like 7zip you can right click the CAB file and extract the contents.
Locate these folders:
T7600-win10-A01-0P54F\T7600\win10\x64\storage\6DD29_A00-00\x64\iaStorS
T7600-win10-A01-0P54F\T7600\win10\x86\storage\6DD29_A00-00\x86\iaStorS
Copy those onto the USB flash drive.
T7600 turned off and all disconnected. Hold down power button to release excess power.
Remove H310 card, unplug everything including LED cable, though make sure you draw a 0 in pencil on the black cable connected at the bottom of the card and draw a 1 on the top cable (just to reference them)
Plug cable 0 into the SAS0 connector on motherboard and cable 1 into SAS1. The connectors on the motherboard look like the ones on the H310 card basically and should be at the bottom of the motherboard.
Now remove the CSMOS battery and place it back in again to reset CSMOS.
Insert a formatted and partitioned HDD into Slot 0 ( I formatted and partitioned my SSD on another PC in Windows) Slot 0 should be bottom right.
Once in Windows 10 installation it will not detect a HDD. Insert your USB flash drive from earlier and hit browse.
Now at this point I am not sure if the x64 version worked. Whatever you do make sure 'hide drivers not compatible with this device' is checked as the correct one will appear. If x64 isn't showing up try the x86 version.
If this helped you please leave a comment to honor my pain and near heart attack getting this to work and of course the awesomeness of SpeedSteps willingness to help where no one else could even after all my bitching and whining :D

Hi Robert, I tried this set it to RAID 0, though the drive is still not showing in the windows installation :( Just to mention it is an SSD drive. Should that be an issue?
I even tried pointing it to these extracted drivers DRVR_WIN_HM7MN_5.1.112.64_A00_ZPE.exe though no compatible drivers were visible and ones that were hidden did not work.
Is there something I am missing? I read about F6 drivers and installing in ATA mode as I am currently in ACHI. Though I am just not sure if this is what I need to do.

I am wondering if there is another way to bypass this like format the drive on another machine or something?

So even with a working windows installed windows itself is still not recognizing the drive. Would changing from ACHI to ATA or something make any difference?

Something else I have noticed. The other disk I had windows installed on I took out because it suddenly wouldnt load. This was possibly after I re-installed the H310 card and did not fit the two black cables properly. In cmd propmpt it is not even recognising the disk is there in diskpart. I am wondering if I reset the card somehow in the bios as I have installed win 10 with no issues before.

THere are 2 drivers I posted 1 is the onboard INTEL RST and the other is the PERC.
You have to UNZIP the files and extract to the Root of a usb flash drive and then F6 install. F6 is actually for XP with 7 8 10 you BROWSE for a Driver.
Otherwise it will say there are no devices. AHCI is required for these drivers.
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/technologies/000005611.html
It will say " a required CD/DVD or USB driver is missing" and or the message below. You must have the extracted drivers on a usb flash to BROWSE for them. Both the PERC and INTEL RST drivers will fit on ANY flash drive but they must be EXTRACTED not a zip or exe file.

Hey SpeedStep, thanks, I have been waiting for your answer :)
A few problems: Nothing happens if I remove the H310 card as the HDD 0-4 are still connected via cables to the card (all hdd slots are connected via two black cables that plug into the H310 card from what I can see)
I also tried using the extracted:
downloads.dell.com/.../DRVR_SAS_Dell_PERC8-1DV4H_Win7_X64_WHQL_setup_ZPE.exe
But none of these show up as compatible. I literally cannot get any driver to load my HDD. The only one that did show up as compatible was an F6 driver for windows 8 x64, though alas no hdd showing after that installed. I am really lost right now as I feel like I have tried everything suggested :(

Ok so just to understand the links:
PERC (DRVR_SAS_Dell_PERC8-1DV4H_Win7_X64_WHQL_setup_ZPE.exe)
INTEL RST (DRVR_AHCI_SCU_Intel_A03_JV4JN_f6flpy-setup_ZPE.exe)
'You have to UNZIP the files and extract to the Root of a usb flash drive and then F6 install'
So just to be clear do you mean when the windows installation cannot find a HDD and I go to browse for driver do I first install the PERC and then browse again and instal the RST (F6)? What if it does not recognise the PERC driver as a hardware compatibe device as I'm sure it did this the last time I tried to install the PERC and had to install by un-hiding drivers not compatible with the hardware.
Sorry my understanding isn't too great with all this, though really appreciating the help :)

So the drive is all seen in the H310 bios as RAID 0 and has been initialized. I got to win 10 installation. Browsed the PERC drivers, though they were hidden as not compatible, so unhid them. Installed the one that said H310. Then I browsed the F6 and found a compatible driver under win8 x 64. Installed that and still no drive. Can you let me know if I am completely missunderstanding what you are explaining to me SpeedStep? I thought the formatting and initialisation of the HDD in H310 bios would work :(

Windows 10 may insist on a newer driver.
Drives on the PERC must be INITIALZED IN BIOS before they exist. Even with Raid 0. (You must have a container to install on). This pre formatting is in BIOS and has nothing to do with the OS. You are skippping steps and not following basic instructions. You have to partition and format the drive BEFORE windows can be installed. Getting to that requires that windows "SEE the drive". You have to have 2 drives minimum with the perc removed to bring up the INTEL Raid menu. However if its AHCI RAID 0 auto and only 1 drive then the F6 driver install for RST will see the drive. It must be "SEEN" in bios before any of this works and the DRIVE 0 must be what you are installing on. The DVD install drive must be drive 1 or 2 or 3. The BLUE connector is DRIVE 0 the WHITE connector is DRIVE 1, Drive 2 and 3 are black.
Install
1. Double-click the downloaded executable file xxxxx.exe. (Where xxxxx is the file name of the file). (I Prefer to rename it .zip and then open it with explorer) Then copy the files to a usb flash.
2. The Self-Extractor window appears and prompts you to extract or unzip to C:\DELL\DRIVERS\xxxxx. If you did not print these instructions, write down this path.
3. The WinZip Self-Extractor window appears
4. Click OK.
5. If the Self-Extractor window is still open, close it.
6. Copy all the files in C:\DELL\DRIVERS\xxxxx to floppy (XP) or USB flash (Vista and above)
7. During Win OS installation, follow OS instruction to load driver.
The Raid Formatting has NOTHING To do with windows.
Non Initialized Drives WILL NEVER EVER be seen before
CTRL R Low level formatting. This formatting is NOT THE SAME with INTEL RST No controller installed.
If there is only 1 drive YOU MUST CHOOSE RAID 0
Right now you have UNCONFIGURED Disk/Disks.
There is onsite support for what you are attempting however it is not free.

You cant just plug into onboard after removing the controller. You must clear cmos or remove battery and then make DRIVE 0 be seen in bios. Crashing to blinking cursor is because the drive is not blank aka a new drive. You should command prompt and clear the drive before trying onboard. You will also need to turn secure boot to OFF and CSM to ON and FAST BOOT to OFF.
Then F12 Boot your install media.
There is support for what you are attempting but it is not free.
