Where are the temporary files located?

I cant seem to find my temporary files on my windowsXP machine. I know where the Temporary internet file are, but not the temporary files. Can someone please help me.

Search for Temp and you'll find them. Be sure you have Folder Options set to show all hidden files.

Many applications use the TMP and TEMP environment variables to know where to put temporary files. You can view these variable settings via the following mouse clicks:
Start->Settings->ControlPanel->System->Advanced->EnvironmentVariables.

Windows XP has a Disk Cleanup tool that will show you all the system temporary files. I think other OSes have a similar tool but I forget since I've been using XP for two months now(I'm over 40).
