Scratch and Dent Desktops

I've been thinking of purchasing a desktop from the Outlet Store and realized i can save $180 by buying a "Scratch and Dent" desktop versus a "Certified Refurbished" one.

So, my question is...  What exactly does "Scratch and Dent mean"?  Are the dents/scratches just minor cosmetic flaws that dont affect the computers preformance? Or will it have a huge gash and multiple dents in it when i recieve it causing it to last months before i have to replace it >.<

You are close but this is what DELL says when they refer to it as "scratch and dent"

Scratch and Dent products are systems with considerable cosmetic blemishes that do not affect performance. They are a great way to save money while still enjoying Dell Outlet's rigorous rebuilding and testing process. Scratch and Dent computers will not have scratches or pits on the screen, missing or illegible letters on the keyboard, or damage to the touchpad or palmrest.

Just be prepared for big dents and scratches.
