Pentium III Processor recognized as Pentium II Processor
when using the Intel camera pro pack I purchased with the computer, the camera software recognizes
the computer as a Pentium II Processor rather than Pentium III Processor . Would appreciate suggestion to
correct this.( Dimensions xps B series Pentium III Processor at 733 MHz)
thank you
Robert

my problem is I don't get the enhancement because it doesn't recognize it as a Pentium III Processor

BIOS was corrupt. I thought sense the computer was only a few weeks old that this wasn't possible.
The enhancement is in the Intel videophone portion when using a Pentium III Processor. I couldn't find any mention on the Intel Web site, but it is part of the specifications on the video instructions that came with the camera. and camera software lists the computer as a Pentium II Processor.
Thank you

BTW, which version of Windows are you running on? Windows 98 (not SE) cannot tell it's a PIII.

What does the computer's BIOS say the CPU is?

Sounds better than the conspiracy theory someone offered!
Off the subject, your location is listed as "Hongkong, GB" - Is that wishful thinking????

- It's a tribute to what it once was - a great city of
- the British Empire.
Thank you for explaining, and I will second that.
I understand that inspite of all the flowery reports from CNN & company, there was a mass exodus before PRC took over.
