MIH81R Motherboard
This motherboard contains a jumper in the corner near the connectors for the drives. What is the purpose of this jumper?

VHWTR is the Dell part number.
MIH81R is not a Dell part number.
Its not a jumper its the front panel connector. This board has proprietary power connections.

Dear alorac,
There are two jumpers on the board, RTCRST (real-time clock reset) to reset the BIOS settings (CMOS clear) and PSWD (the one you mean obviously) to reset the BIOS password.

"jumper 20 in the corner near the connectors for the drives" is the front panel connector.
RTCRST 5 is in the middle of the board. The password Reset Jumper 2 is NOT on ANY corner.

Dear SpeedStep,
I've never said the jumpers are in any corner.

I don't know.
Here is a picture of my Nov 2015 build i3847 mobo marked MIH81R great bear.
There are jumpers for the 3 above that are marked on the mobo, but the one I think you are thinking of is not marked.
I think you are talking about the one with the rightmost red arrow.
none of the pins on it are jumped.
The green arrow points to the wiring harness for the front panel of the computer.
The yellow arrow points to the location of the SATA connectors for the HDD (2 closest on right), and ODD (2 on their left)

Doing some drive and cable swapping, I got a better look at the rightmost red arrow
that is actually a connector for "SYSFAN1"
It's a connector for another case fan.
