Locate authorized Dell service center for desktops?

I am a prospective Dell customer who is comparing Dell to competitors.  I am not happy with location of competitors' nearest authorized service center but I am unable to find the location of authorized service centers at all on Dell's site.  Can the information I seek be found on Dell's site?  If so, will anyone help me to use Dell's site more effectively?

At least the competitors you found HAVE authorized service centers!  Dell doesn't bother so unless you just love talking to someone from India you cannot understand, if service is important, you might be reconsider  I'll be more than happy to relate to you my experience with Dell's "service".

Tywin

Dell does not have any service centers, they have outside contractors to carry out 'on site' warranty repairs.

Depending on the warranty, notebooks can be mailed back to Dell, at their expense, for warranty repairs.

Surely, there are independant contractors that Dell works with in larger cities. I don't have time to 'troubleshoot' my daughters computer. It keeps shutting down. I want to take it to someone to have it fixed. I did have a service agreement with Dell for this computer, but it may have expired. She is at school. I have the computer now, because it is worthless to her. It is less than 4 years old, but right now it is only good as a door-stop.

How can I find someone to fix this thing?

i'm surprised too that Dell wouldn't provide a resource to find authorized repair centers.  i guess i'll just google it.  i'm writing this in case there is a response, and in case Dell monitors this and is interested in resonding to customer interest in (a simple?) service/resource such as this.

(j'm in San Francisco, should someone happen to have a recommendation for here.  XPS m2010 laptop with bars and other fritzy video from initial powering on)

As was already said, Dell doesn't have any authorized service centers. They have contracts with companies like Banctec to provide warranty service at your home or office location. I don't think Banctec will provide repair service directly to an individual, e,g. for a system that's not under Dell's warranty.

So I guess you'll have to take it to a local PC repair shop...

Senator2 - you responded to a thread that's just about one year old. Kinda pointless. :emotion-4:

@RoHe

Responding a year later on a post is not necessarily pointless. As you were getting info from a year later and I am a year after you. Still useful for others down the road.
