Is there a diagram for the front panel pin connector on the motherboard for the xps 8500?

I am planning on transplanting the computer into a new case and I need to know the pin arrangement for the xps 8500.

Dell doesn't make that info public. You can search this forum and elsewherer to see if anybody has mapped the pin assignments...

One person tried this.  You will have to use a meter to figure it out.

Sorry for not understanding... But can you explain a little bit more?

And how can I do that?

You will have to use a multi meter to figure out the pinouts of the connector.

Its only 10 pins but its not standard.  The Diagram Below MAY NOT BE CORRECT and likely is not.   This information however will not be published.  YMMV

Because what would a multimeter do? Are there different amounts of electricity for each pin?

The wires are polarized.  If you don't know how to use a multimeter then its not likely you will be able to figure it out.

I understand how to use a multimeter, but how is this supposed to help me map out the pins?
