I need help please, URGENT
Hey,
I really have to make it clear in my head and to get a good answer quickly.
I have a Dell Dimension E520 and I want to upgrade it a bit so I can use it as my last PC for home work.
I want to upgrade the graphic card because it seems like there is none.
Would this graphic card be compatible ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Would it be too big for the hole to get the Ports out?
What RAM should I get too? It can support 4GB only. Needs to be DDR2 SDRAM of 533/667 MHz clock speed.
I should also add one fan but I don't know if it is possible.
And I would need to upgrade the HDD and add a SSD if I can...
My PC is on Windows 7 32bit.
Help me please.
Thank you
Mary G

Go to Crucial.com to get the right memory upgrades. 32 bit windows cannot utilize over 4 GB ram so that would be fine. That is really the only upgrade you should do on the old E520. SSD drives are expensive and are overkill for your needs. Today's graphic cards require bigger power supplies. The one you asked about is not much better than the built in graphics you have now and would most likely require a bigger power supply unit. Save the upgrade money for a new computer.

I want to upgrade the graphic card because it looks like there is none at the moment. I'll probably buy an external HDD because mine is 160GB...
So should I do it?

First try the following:
If you don't have a floppy drive installed, enter the system setup [ F2 on Startup ] and check under diskette drives, if there's is a 3.5" diskette drive listed, change it to "Not installed" or "what ever".
This should stop the system from looking for the A: drive.
