error message in system configuration utility

Myhard drive was replaced and I reinstalled all Dell software. My system resources were at 59% so I went into startup to uncheck some of the programs. When I typed in msconfig and hit enter at the start menu, I received the following error message: UNABLE TO SYNCHRONIZE THE ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES IN THE WINDOWS REGISTRY WITH THE ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES IN THE LEGACY FILES AUTOEXEC.BAT AND/OR CONFIG.SYS. Please tell me what this means and how I can fix it. Thanks.

Uninstall whatever software that changed your autoexec.bat or config.sys files. Other than that there is nothing you can do about it.
