Dell Precision T3400 and the 3rd Hard Drive (Can I, or Can't I?)

I need to add a 3rd Drive to a Dell Precision T3400 MT. However after reading the userguide i can't tell whether or not the 3.25 bays can be used.

Under adding and replacing parts in the section for Tower configuration Pg 186 of the user guide states " upper 3.5-inch drive bay, (supports a floppy drive, a Media, Card Reader, or an additional, SATA or SAS hard drive)" In the section "

Installing an Optional Third Hard Drive (Tower Computer) Pg 199 states "

Do not attempt to install a SAS hard drive in the lower 3.5-inch drive bay. This drive bay will only support a floppy drive or a Media Card Reader."

So, can i or can't I use the 3.25" bay and if not, bearing in mind i'm in the UK how can i install the 3rd Drive (I say bearing in mind, as when i spoke to Dell Parts in the UK, they had no idea.

Thanks

... and to complicate matters even further, on pg 223  "Installing an Optical Drive (Tower Computer). NOTICE: In a tower configuration with 4 hard drives, there can only be one optical drive which must be installed in the upper 5.25-inch drive bay. In this case, the 3rd hard drive will occupy the upper 3.5-inch drive bay. The fourth hard drive will occupy the lower 5.25-inch drive bay." [*-)]

n1koolkat, I'm curious, how did you end up getting the 3rd drive into that slot? I'm a new owner of a T3400, and i would like to setup a nice amount of hard drives in mine, it'll be used as a media server.
