extending a LUN which has a mirrorview session
Hi All,
What's the repercussions of extending a LUN, which has active MV/A sessions ?
Is it best to destroy the MV/A session, and recreate them after the LUN extension ?
Need i concern myself with the RLP config in such an instance ?
Much Thanks, for taking the trouble of going through this....

As a workaround from extending a PV on the AIX side ( i.e. the host side of this matter), we are contemplating allocating fresh LUNs from EMC side, and do an LV extend from the AIX side. In such a scenario, adding the new LUN to the existing consistency group should suffice, logically, right ? For, after all all changes on the LVM metadata structure level, as well as writes to the new LUN are just that -writes - and can be replicated as all constituents are in the consistency group.
Back ground - host: AIX, the consistency group has the boot LUN, DB LUN (i.e. DB LUN1), and the Log LUN at present. We need to increase the DB LUN size LUN while managing the replication. So a DB LUN2 will be added to the above consistency group, while the necessary expansion happens at the LVM level on AIX.

That should work fine, I don't see any issues with that.
