OMSE 2.0 fails install on SQL Server 2014

We are attempting a fresh install of OMSE 2.0 on a Windows 2012 server (not domain controller) which has SQL Server 2014 installed locally.  All of the prerequisites were complete successfully.

The installation process finds the SQL Server 2014, almost completes the install, gets to publishing "Publishing Essentials application in IIS", then rolls this step back and says "OMSE was not installed."

The installation is being run from a domain admin login, and the user assigned to OMSE in SQL Server is a sysadmin with full rights.

Anyone seen this before or know the cause?

Thanks in advance.

OME 2.0 has not been verified against SQL 2014. Not sure if that could be the reason, but we would recommend you to use the supported SQL version.

Yep.  You might also review the InstallUtil.log file under windows temp if I recall correctly.
