Using DPA to get DD880 dedup ratio
Hi
I would like to get some statistics from Datadomain (DD880 connected to Networker, using OST mode), such as disk usage (with AND without deduplication) and dedup ratio, but the requests provided with DPA 5.6 don't give anything for that.
Does anyone has made his own request to do that, or give which data source we have to use ?
Thanks
Christophe

If your DD880 is running DDOS 4.8 or higher, you should be using DPA 5.6 SP1 or 5.7. When we were running DPA 5.6 and upgraded our DD880 from 4.7.x to 4.8.x, DPA stopped collecting info, the DD MIB changed between 4.7.x and 4.8.x. As from version 5.6 SP1, DPA knows how to handle the modified DD MIB.

Hi,
NetWorker will report on the dedupe ratio. Check out the EMC NetWorker DataDomain Deduplication Devices Integration Guide
for details of the reports that are available. From a look at the DPA 5.6 Data Collection Reference Guide, there is a Data Domain module that includes disk performance statistics, so I think this should provide what you need.

Hi,
Sorry but DPA 5.6 provides some request for Datadomain, but most of them answer 'no result found'.
So I got neither disk occupancy (with or without dedup), neither dedup ratio, and so on.....
This product is not finalized at all.....
Networker provided the Datadomain occupancy in the backup device menu, so we can get it somewhere....

It may be you are not collecting the information you wish to report on - check the properties on your DD880 node and see what requests you have configured.

In the node properties, in DPA, I got :
Datadomain Configuration
Datadomain Performance
Datadomain Status
all of these are working properly (Okay status).
