Incorrect scaling with Total Size (MB)

I have used this data source but when it scales the data in the report it appears to be out by a factor of 1000.  I tried dividing the field by 1000 which gave a correct result in the report editor but when I ran in the main GUI window it gave a null pointer error (if I removed the divide it worked okay).  My workaround is to display as PB and pretend it is TB but it is not the most ideal of solutions.  Anyone else have another suggestion?

BTW if I use the Total Size data source it does work okay but I needed the MB total for a calculation and I did not have control over the scaling with the report itself.

Okay Elvin, I've worked around this.  I took the Total Size datasource, divided it by 1000 and set the units to MB.  The value could then divide into the MB/tape value I had correctly, but also will scale correctly in the output by changing the units to TB.

One further point, the units are initially correct; however the data source is merged (right side) with another data source and the unit changes there to GB even though there is no change to the data - the other side has some MB data which has the units preserved

I used the Total Size (MB) as a workaround for the Total Size datasource not behaving correctly when arithmetical operations were performed on it (I was calculating the average size of data on a per media).

This may be bug 8424 fixed in 5.7; I will verify when we have upgraded .

David

try using the datasource "Total Size" and not the "Total Size (MB)" datasource - the scaling should be fine with the "Total Size" one.

One more thing I have found about the Total Size (MB), this is not populated for CommVault servers, though it is populated for Networker servers; the Total Size datasource is populated for both types of server.
