Datamine migration issue

After starting the datamine migration, a few messages went by saying things were migrated, so things appeared to be working.  For the last couple of hours the only thing showing up in the log is a "WARN" with a partial comment saying "Retrying posting Report after throttling."

Any idea if this will move to the next step or are we stuck?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

This can happen if the DPA v6 server is busy - the migrator waits until the server is not as busy so it can process the migration data. Is the DPA v6 server being actively used (for running reports, etc) or is it dedicated to migration?

There was a recent posting of a server patch to support.emc.com (server build 101) which includes some adjustments that significantly improves migration performance. This was posted to support.emc.com around February 14th - so if you downloaded DPA server prior to that date I'd strongly recommend upgrading. The description includes the word PATCH and there is an upgrade file (for applying to an existing DPA v6 install) as well as an install file which can be applied to a system with no existing DPA v6 installation.

You can check what build level you're currently running by going to the command line on your DPA Application Server and running "dpa app ver" from the DPA_install_directory/services/bin.

Regards,

Gareth

Hello Gareth,

I work with "tmad" user that you answered a question for the other day.

The server that the V6 migrator is running on is at less than 10% CPU and not running any DPA reporting yet.

I ran the command you suggested on the APP server and it says "PATCH 75"...Is that what you were talking about?

Thanks,

John
