Ok, I got into that site and I cannot seem to find any documentation.  I know this sounds strange, but when I click on "Install, license, and configure",  there is a getting started and How-to's tabs.  When I click on those nothing comes up. In fact all of the Support Topics have no information on them. 

I've tried viewing the site in IE and chrome.  No difference. 

It also mentions various data domain models but the DD2200 is not listed.

Hardware Models

Information for hardware models, DD990, DD4500, DD4200, DD7200, DD2500, DD630 and DD890.

There is 2200, but model is less important here. I do not see any document for BE2014 (doc search as https://support.emc.com/search/?product_id=9012&text=backupexec&facetResource=DOC_LIB ). I'm not sure if there is anything new to DD and BE 2014, but I suspect not or at least not so much.  In that case, links like IT (Mis)Adventures in Namibia: Configuring Backup Exec 2012 to backup to a DataDomain 670 using the OST plugin should get you going.

I actually found that article a few days before posting here.  The problem that I have with that is I cannot seem to figure out where to download "EMC DataDomain Boost for Symantec OpenStorage ".  I contacted my reseller and he said I did not need this plugin.   Furthermore when I login to EMC to download the plugin, it tells me there are no downloads available. 

The EMC website is infuriating with the lack of access to what I need.  It says I cannot access live chat either.  I have 1 support call and 2 emails into support with 0 responses so far.   The robot at the call center took my information and said someone would contact me within 3 hours.

It looks like the DD2200 is supported with Backup Exec 2012 but it isn't on the Hardware Compatibility list for Backup Exec 2014.  See this link for the Backup Exec Hardware Compatibility lists http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH205797

It indeed looks like the DD2200, isn't on the HCL. However, looking at the other models that are on the list, including the DD2500 through DD7200, I would bet that the HCL hasn't been updated yet. I would be hard pressed to think the DD2200 isn't supported, when all the other DDXX00 models are. I understand the documentation aspect of making sure hardware will work, though from a practical perspective and administrative perspective, I would move forward with the DD2200.

Thank you everyone.  I had to fight EMC support to even get support.  My account was locked down.  I now have access to docs and downloads but not live support or account features for some reason.  I will continue battling for that.

Once I was able to download the OST plugin, I was able to configure it properly.  Works
