I worked with support and here is high level what we did:-
We entered the vSphere Client and got into bash mode so that we could change the password.
We then proceeded to enter into bash and deleted the password for "sysadmin"
After which there was not password: we ran "user change password sysadmin"
we entered the new password for the sysadmin and it worked both on GUI and SSH.

That's a shame, it would have given you an option.
Unfortunately I haven't had to perform this activity on DDMC - only on DD's, which is not very pleasant/easy in itself.
I'm not sure you have a great deal of options but to perform a new installation but maybe others have greater wisdom than me on this.
I guess a new installation would just lose your historical data so far gathered - the deployment piece is pretty straightforward for DDMC.
Sorry I can't help you much - Jonathan.

yes its the only user/password, I believe it was hardly ever used. so they are not sure whether they changed it or if it is still default password.

Do you have only one user/password?
