Hi kris123,

So with regards to replication compatibility between DDOS 5.6 and 6.0, yes this is supported. As per the DDOS 6.0 administration guide directory and mtree replication are supported with either system as source (i.e. you can replicate in either direction). This is as expected as DDRs normally support replication with other systems which are within 2 major versions of each other (for example 5.6 can replicate with 5.4 to 6.0 as there were no 5.8/5.9 releases).

With regards to DD System Manager the 5.7 onwards releases are different from earlier releases in that you can only manage a system by logging into that systems user interface - basically it is no longer possible to add a remote DDR to anothers System Manager. The 5.6 system you are logging into will still have this functionality but I strongly suspect that its not supported/possible to add a 6.0 system. Moving forwards if you want to manage multiple DDRs from a single pane of glass you would need to use Data Domain Management Center (DDMC).

If you were hoping to add the 6.0 system to a 5.6 System Manager to configure replication you may need to resort to using the command line on each system instead. Again commands are in the DDOS administration guide.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, James

Thank you James. I am not able to add new system v6.0 to the old Enterprise manager GUI. However I am able to configure replication between DDv5.6 and DDv6.0 using cli.
